CVS ONLINE REWARDS

CVS Couponing:   Online Rewards

So  we covered ExtraCare Buck rewards, now we can cover another set of rewards opportunities from our wonderful little CVS.  Now, I am going to guess…go out on a limb here…that most of you who are reading this has a CVS ExtraCare Card.  If not, see a store associate and we will definitely get you started with one. 

Now, for those of you who are “green,” or rather you are or not, request that the associate does not give you a paper application. Rather, go online and register the card and start saving more than just on what the sales prices are on in-store merchandise. 

See, once you register your email address* we will email you a “$4 off $20 or more” coupon.  You will receive these coupons every 4-6 weeks, as well as free merchandise offers such as some sort of free candy, or free hand sanitizer, body wash, or something of the sort. Besides, who cares what it is, it’s CVS and it’s free, right?  But, those rewards will only become available to you if you register the card online. 

Also, if you do online shopping, sometimes you can find the things you need on our website instead of in the store.  Well, with your in-store rewards, you will get online rewards as well, so splurge and save on CVS.com merchandise, as well.  AND…yes I said And, while you are on our website, do not forget to visit our photo site as well.  I will list all of the links below. 

Being the wonderful Photo Tech I am, I could not go without mentioning to you our photo site.  If you sign up for your free CVS photo account online, you will immediately receive 50 free prints to send to your local store.  I said 50 FREE prints. There goes everyone’s favorite f-word again.  Plus, just like you get those in-store coupons, you get photo coupons at about the same time the in-store reward emails are sent.  The photo coupons, however, are only redeemable online.  But, you can still pick up your photo order in whatever store you so choose.  So, that is all I can think of to tell you about our online coupons and how we send your savings to your inbox!

FOOD LION COUPON ACCEPTANCE POLICY

Another retailer has published their coupon acceptance policy on their website.  Food Lion posted their policy which you can access HERE. 

Print a copy of this and keep it in your binder or coupon file.  If you ever have any problems you can refer back to it.  Remember, please be nice and understanding with your cashiers.  We do not know if they have been trained on the coupon policy for their store.  Also, their managers may have given them directives to follow.

When you have an issue, finish your transaction and head straight to customer service.  This makes it easier on everyone including the people in line behind you that may be in a hurry.

Here's a little summary of the policy:

No stacking - you can only use one coupon per item
No competitor coupons
No Internet Printables for FREE items without a purchase
No overages
No more than 10 coupons for like items

As I understand at this time our local stores will not be doubling like the Atlanta area stores.  Also there is no word on getting the in-store coupon machines.  I hate to say it but I gotta be honest.  Publix is coming to my neighborhood and they are looking REALLY good right now.

FREE GAIN DISH DETERGENT

We got $1/1 Gain Dish Detergent coupons in the P&G Brandsaver insert today.  There happens to be 2 places I've found so far that you can score free dish detergent!

Walmart has Gain dish soap for $0.97.

Rite Aid has Gain dish soap on sale for $0.89 this week.
Dollar General has Gain dish soap for $1.00 ea

COUPONS IN THE SAVANNAH MORNING NEWS 8/29

Here are our insert coupons from the Savannah Morning News.  Remember that Jacksonville and Charleston have larger inserts and get most of the coupons listed in the preview.  The coupons listed in red are the ones we didn't get here.  The coupons in blue indicate a change in value or a coupon that wasn't in the preview.  Print this list and keep it with your coupons so you'll know what you have.  Mark them off as you use them.

There are quite a few we didn't get so if you have contacts in the larger cities they may be able to get those for you.  An option would be to use a clipping service.  Not sure on how to do that or which service to use?  I have articles that will help you.  GO HERE for clippers and GO HERE on how to use them.

On a lighter note, it appears Red Plum heard the news about the Savannah smoking ban.  They gave us a couple Nicorette coupons in case any smokers want to venture downtown for some odd reason.  Oh yeah and we got more alcohol rebates instead of L'oreal coupons.

This coming weekend is a holiday weekend.  Typically we don't have inserts but check back on Wednesday and I'll let you know if I hear any rumors.

WALGREENS' NEW COUPON POLICY

This news has hit all the frugal websites and I'm no exception.  This is HUGE news.

Walgreens has posted their new coupon policy and you can get your copy HERE.  Print this out and keep it in your binder or purse when you shop there.  The associates may or may not have been trained yet.  Please do not get upset if they are not familiar with the changes.
Here are some things I noticed that I've had issues with in the past:

When items are featured in a Buy One, Get One Free promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long as the net price does not go below zero for the items being purchased.

When purchasing a single item, Walgreens accepts one manufacturer coupon and applicable Walgreens coupon(s) for the purchase of a single item, unless prohibited by either coupon offer.

The coupon amount must be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value).

I am so happy that Walgreens posted this on their site.  Now there is no question about their policy.

CVS INSIDER REPORT

CVS Couponing: How ExtraCare Bucks Work

Alright, so you all know about the ECB program and how effective it is. The circulars show what you have to buy and how many bucks you get back. Example: for this week through 9/1 Powerade®, Glauceau® VitaminWater®, and Glauceau® Smart Water are $10/10. Then, after ten you get $5.00 in ECB. But, do you know something about our ECB system? We don’t require or expect you to buy all ten at one time. We may not have ten available, or you may just want one or two. But, don’t think you will never get the $5.00 because, guess what? You can come back and do something called “progressive purchasing.” Our system is a smart one. It will keep up with the progress you have made towards that week’s ECB offers. It will look something like this:

The highlighted areas are the one you need to look for. Now, once you receive the reward, then there is the way to spend it.

There is one difference between ExtraCare Rewards and ExtraCare BUCK rewards. ExtraCare Rewards (i.e. $3 off a purchase of $15 or more) cannot be doubled, or only one can be used on one transaction. Also, if we scan your ExtraCare Card first, and come to realize that your ExtraCare Buck rewards are noted for a different card number, we CAN scan the correct card last and allow you to redeem your rewards. However, the qualifying products will go towards the first card scanned, so you may need to keep up with your rewards for each separate card.

Also, if you have more than one card for more than one person, please bring that person with you when completing your transaction to eliminate confusion. Hopefully, this will be helpful to you, and there WILL be more to come about some other insider tips to our wonderful coupon system!

Pinecone Research is accepting applicants for a limited time.  They are looking for women ages 18-24 or age 35+  and specifically 55+ ONLY so please don't complete the application if you don't fall into any of those groups.

Pinecone Research sends you a short email asking you to participate in research for a specific product.  If you agree they will send you the product and you test it.  Then you'll go to their website and complete a survey about what you think.  The products are not marked for sale but rather for research.  I tasted some really good cereal bars before they came out.  I also got to test deodorant.  I didn't know until later who they were for.  I averaged 2 surveys a month for about 2 years.  They are completely legit in my book.

What do you get paid?  They pay cash.  I found an old Pinecone Research check when I was getting ready for our yard sale.  You won't get rich but it sure does help.

They only accept applicants for a short time and then they close the pool so hurry and apply now if you are interested.  You can always backout later if you don't like it.  The number of daily slots are limited so if you click the link and it goes to the Survey Head page, the slots are full and you should check back tomorrow.

I got my scanner and it came with a USB cord to connect to my computer.  It's like a little cordless handheld scanner that you see in stores.  You don't need a home phone line anymore to be on the panel either.  They also sent a CD of software so I could transmit my purchases. 

When I buy anything I bring it home and scan the barcode before I put it away.  Then if I use coupons and sales I just tell them how much my coupon was for.  I thought it was gonna explode with all my Sobe water purchases.  When it asked for the quantity I entered 12 and it asked "are you sure?"  I had to laugh when I put in my final total of $0.21 for all 12.

The scanner was loaded with all the stores around me except Food Lion.  After the first time I scanned an item from Food Lion the store showed up after I transmitted for that week.  This thing even had Tybee IGA.

I plug the scanner into my computer every Saturday and it automatically sends my shopping info to NCP.  That's it.  I know they take this data and look at the coupon usage.  I'm hoping it will help us get better coupons in this area when they see we actually buy more with coupons than we get for full price. 

I am earning points too.  You can trade the points in for prizes and stuff but I'm not too concerned with that right now.  I'll let you know if I get a car or something.  haha

Anyway, that's my experience I thought I'd share.  Give it a shot.  You just take the survey and it you qualify they'll let you know.  It's not one of those surveys where you get half way through and they kick you out either.  Just give it a try.  You won't lose anything but you could help influence the coupons and sales we get.
